DNV Maritime Social Media Visual Identity
DNV Maritime is the division of DNV that provides ship classification, certification, and advisory services for the global maritime industry. Due to low social engagement, they wanted to develop a refreshed design system for their social media communications and drive higher interaction. They have very strict brand guidelines, so the challenge was to push the boundaries without breaking any rules.

My Process
-
Since the industry is maritime, I wanted to leverage strong ocean and maritime photography. By keeping the graphic copy minimal and letting striking natural imagery lead, the visuals offer a refreshing break from the noise of a typical social media feed.
-
DNV Maritime had been relying solely on static assets, which made their creative strategy feel one-dimensional. I proposed introducing GIFs to add movement (especially effective given how dynamic the sea can be) and using carousels for more content-heavy posts. By spanning photography and design elements across multiple frames, the carousels keep viewers engaged and encourage them to swipe through the full story.
-
I used an adapted version of the DNV logo as the central design motif. The stacked lines represent land, sea, and sky, and I leveraged the space between them to create a light, open layout that acts as a visual reset in the feed. The cutout treatment of the graphics over the photography further lets the images breathe, keeping the overall design airy and uncluttered.
